About Me
BIO:
Colton is a University of Nevada, Reno Graduate from the School of Music. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education with an emphasis in Percussion. Colton has been teaching percussion since 2018. He has performed in many groups such as The Pride of the Sierra Wolf Pack Marching Band, UNR Percussion Ensemble, UNR Wind Ensemble, and is currently the Band and Choir Director at North Valleys High School.
Why do I do this?
I want to share my passion for music with as many people as possible and to share with them how I enjoy it, thrive in it, and live for it. Teaching is my passion, but teaching comes in many different forms. In my opinion, private lessons are the ideal form, the "Holy Grail”. I have been around music education for over 15 years, there is one thing I noticed. Students who take private lessons improve drastically faster than those who are not. I find that the one on one help with a student allows the most potential out of the student, over a self taught or group learning environment.
